H. E. Mrs. Ghiselaine Henrison, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mauritius
Born in 1944, Mrs. Ghiselaine Henrison was educated at the Queen Elizabeth College in Mauritius and completed her university studies at the Sorbonne, Paris.
She started her career as a teacher in a private secondary school where she taught the French language and History.
Following in the footsteps of elder brother Gaetan Duval, she entered the political arena in 1976 and contested the general election for the same year. She was elected Member of Parliament for the constituency of Curepipe and Midlands and stayed in Parliament until 1987. She served as Junior Minister for the island of Rodrigues.
In 1988, she was appointed Ambassador of Mauritius to Paris. In 1999 she took office as Ambassador of Mauritius in Antananarivo where she served for two years.
Mrs. Henrison is accredited as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mauritius to the Federal Republic of Germany since 11 July 2006, to the Czech Republic since 05 December 2007, and to the Republic of Austria since 15 February 2008.
Mrs. Henrison is a widow, with three children and one grand daughter.
She speaks English and French.
She enjoys reading, movies and traveling.
