Mumbai Terrorist Attacks
Mauritius Identity Cards
In the wake of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, there have been reports of a Mauritius Identity Card having been found.
The Indian competent authorities have informed that all that has been found is the legitimate Mauritian Identity Card issued in the name of late Mr. Chaitlall Gunness, former Chief Executive Officer of the State Bank of Mauritius Ltd., and that this Identity Card was found in the lobby of the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai. Mr. Chaitlall Gunness was unfortunately killed in the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
The Mauritian authorities have also been informed that no Mauritian Identity Card, Credit or Debit Card had been found in the bags of terrorists.
